Full of Life, That's A Mardaani

I've remembered this clearly.. Years ago when i was in 6th grade I saw her for the first time. I was besieged by an acute illness hence moved to a hospital for some days. She was a paramedic at there. I was in hospital for around 15 to 16 days and in this long period whenever I was alone she was there to look after me. Her helping and caring nature touched me right in the feels. When I left the hospital, I thought I'd never meet her again but It wasn't the end. Not just me but my family was also got in touch with her. We then became family friends. Since then to today it has been 8 or 9 years, she is still our friend.

When you see her, she is like light and rainbow, a beautiful human being, Full of life kinda person.. You meet her and don't laugh, these two things can not be happen together. I'd only say Live like Mardaani, Live like her.. I may don't know her whole life story but what I know, inspires me a lot to live a life like the way she does. She is likely 50 years old but her heart is still young.

She born in Karnaal, Haryaana.. at an early stage of her life she lost her parents.. her younger brother was killed.. loosing parents in childhood, a thing you couldn't get over until you're as strong as she was. After them there was no one who would care for her except her elder brother. Her Tauji (her father's elder brother) looked after them. Her brother was sent to a hostel and her relatives were planning for her wedding in her age of studies. She wanted to study high. When she got to know about her wedding, She ran away from home. She had already applied for scholarships, somehow, got the scholarship, She then studied at a Govt. Hostels in Delhi and used to give tuition  for her living. It was a hard time but the spirit of living and to do something, never stayed away from her.
In Delhi, She filled a form in nursing as she wanted to be like Mother Teresa, her role model. She did nursing then, on a scholarship. After completing the course she got a job. Everything was fine.. She had a life just like she wanted to have. But there was something happened that hard to get overcome.

Something happened that she never tells anyone. It looks like she doesn't want to tell or she's just trying to forget it. so I can not go into deep of her life, she doesn't want to share those things.

Becoming a mother is the greatest achievement for any woman. A precious thing she gives is 'birth'. and The most hard thing a woman can have is knowing, she cannot be a mother ever. Knowing you can't be a Mother before wedding can break any woman's heart. But Only a "mardaani" woman can make it easy going. It is not just about "mardaani" It is about a strong woman who wants to live her life no mater what. It is the spirit of living.
She hasn't gotten married yet and don't even want to. She says, for her purpose of marriage, she cannot ruin anyone's life.
She knows the true meaning of life. She knows how to live a life better. Every time she tells me how to live a life with full of joy even in the sorrows.

She lives alone, She earns for her, She spends for her, She is taking the full colors of life. If you haven't had anything, doesn't mean you can't have anything  For a better life you need a better thinking.

That's how Saroj Bala is.

A Defender

Seems to be a normal day. Like every Friday, It was 7 o'clock she was taking breakfast and about to go to the NCC Unit in Gandhinagar, Jaipur.. picked up helmet, wore shoes and walked to the garage for her scooter, She turned the scooter to the main gate and Tried* to start it... "Lo pad gya syappaa" she screamed inside. Scooter didn't start when she was getting late to report in the unit.
She rushed to pick up a low floor bus from the main road in her full ncc uniform. There was so much crowd in the bus even no place to set a foot.. like an every local bus in the office time.. She was standing with holding the handle.
Gandhinagar was far.. people were leaving and coming.. She saw a vacant seat, as she saw, she sat on it.. There was a girl (curly hairs, fare color and a bit healthy) standing near her seat.
Kritika was observing everything, happening in the bus and also looking through the window. The girl standing by her was falling ahead. Kritka thought, It might be because of the breakers. She ignored her once then she fell again, Kritika stood and said her to take her seat.
Kritika looked at her eyes, the girl had tears in her eyes.. She said,'don't cry and take her seat". The girl was looking so younger. She and the girl exchanged their placements. Kritika didn't know what was happening with her as long as she had the same situation.
There was man, looked like a 45 years old, pushing and molesting her from the back side. He tried to do the same thing with kritika, He pushed her further. Kritika got angry and shouted at him,"Apne aapko control me kar, saale! umra ka to lihaaz kar". in a rapid voice. She got the center of attraction by saying these lines. Everybody was looking her like what did she say. That man, replied her back in voice as he didn't know anything and acting like she was blaming her for no reason. He tried to convince other passengers that he didn't do anything. Kritika had a louder voice and told others what he was doing.
An other man said to kritika to keep calm, find a seat and sit. Nobody was believing whatever that man was doing, Bus conductor said to her,"inki umra dekho vo karenge kya ese". She replied,"meri jagah tum hote to pta chalta." She pointed to the girl who was sitting on her seat and said,"Isse puchho, ye isse b chhed raha tha."
Kritika got a little shock when the girl refused, She said that he didn't do anything to her.. Kritka asked then why was she crying. Girl shut her mouth. She pressurized her to say what that man was doing, Nothing would happen just say. She had put her mouth keep shut like someone placed a tape on her mouth. That man was laughing at her. Kritika didn't loose hope, then a lady siting behind some seats, stood and was supposed to go out, said,"Sharam nahi aati ese bhoode bhoode logo ko, bachche ki umra ki ladkiyo ko chhedte h" while passing them. Looked like conductor heard that lady.. then realized.
He said to that man to sorry her. That man refused to say sorry, another man kept his voice and said the same, gradually everybody said him to sorry and promise her that he wouldn't do this again.. That man first refused then he ashamed in the public and finally said sorry to her.
Kritika proved herself, that yes! she has the spirit of "Mardaani".

Worthy Of Imitation

"Worthy of Imitation" not only me but everybody says this for her.

She comes from a well known family of Alwar, Rajasthan. A bold, Straightforward, helpful in nature. "Gundi" of the family.. "Dabang" in school and now college. House-wise-captain of the school. Superior in every sport and all the extra curricular activities, these are some terms which defines her personality.
When teachers wishes to have a daughter like her, her fellows wants to be like her..She is "Worthy Of Imitation" not only from my opinion but she got the tittle from all who knows her.

I know her since our childhood, we're are cousin sisters cum best friends. One thing, I love about her that She doesn't know the term "Defeat". Whatever she does, she owns it. You cannot be over smart in front of her. She will definitely beat you. I don't say this all, her fellows say. She have some letters from her juniors which are titled as "Vaishali My Role Model".. She's a perfect role model who doesn't afraid of anyone that's what I call a true "Mardaani".

Ragging, as it is practiced in almost all the schools and colleges by seniors. Seniors do ragging as per to have some fun or humor or just to take a revenge. They bully and intimidate who are weaker. It is needed to be consigned to the dustbin.

School has started after the summer vacations, She is in 10th std. now.
Happy to be back in school after a long time.. She's meeting all her friends and her teachers.. It seems to be a happy day..
As a wise captain she is a known personalty of the school.. Juniors admire her because of her dabang personalty. New juniors are being introduced.. She's addressing them.
She gets an eye on a diminutive kid who's new in the school, seems to be weaker in strength but cute by face. She asks his name. Kid is glad and politely tells his name. She says to come to her if he gets any problem in school. kid says,"okay".
Day passes..
The beginning of a new day that kid is surrounded by some bad guys of the school in interval. Vaishali's taking lunch and chatting with her friends.. then suddenly two juniors appear who tell her that.. "rishabh ki ragging ho rahi h aur vo bohat ro raha hai in the basket-ball court." (Rishabh is being ragged, and crying too much)
She asks," Who the F is doing this all bullshit?" They tell, their names..She found, they are her seniors and ones who don't like the way she is.. She leaves the lunch and rushes to the basket ball court.
It is seeming like they wanted her to come to them. Rishabh is gotten rid of. His knee is bleeding, his spectacles have thrown away. She finds his spectacles, places on his face then says to go to the wash room and clean himself. Those bad guys of the school are shamelessly standing there and waiting her to talk to them. She tightly slaps the guy who opened his mouth first. He gets angry, his face gets all red, and the engram of four fingers. He calls all those bad guys to encompassed her..
She is not the one who will be scared.. Two boys are enfolding her hands and boy who got the slap, starts slapping on her face, She bawls and then a kick on the right place.. three kicks in a row..
Whole school have gathered all around the basket ball court. Teachers come to stop her.. but it is hard to stop her from the fighting, she is continuously fighting even in front of the school teachers..somehow teachers manage to stop her..
Now they all are called to come in the principals office. Principal knows her well that she won't do anything without any reason, he asks the reason.. she tells the whole story..
Rishabh has called his parents, they are coming to the school..when they come he tells his parents that how vaishali saves him.. his parents go to the principal's office where, everybody is there.
Vaishali is being punished because of her misbehave in front of the teachers, and all those guys already have been suspended from the school.
Vaishali already has been sorry to them.. Rishabh's parents are very impressed by her.. they keep her side to not to punish her as she saved their son. Principal releases her.
She has become a Hero in front of many eyes.. Yes! She is "Mardaani"

A Daredevil

She born as a fearless, spunky, daring woman at a prestigious family of a village near Agra, Uttar Pardesh
They were four sisters and neetu was the second born. After many years her brother was born.
Time passed and then it was the time for her brother to go to school which was located in an another village. He used to go with his father who was the principal of the school.
Neetu was seeing her father was being over protected on his son. One day, she found a "warning note" in dirty clothes of her father and got to know her brother was in danger. She got the whole story.
Her father had to go for a work in Agra but his responsibilities were stopping him to go. Neetu convinced him to keep faith in her, She would take rinku(her brother) to the school.

It was a raining outside, She was getting late to take him back from the school. She picked up an umbrella and rushed to the school on a cycle. While coming back to home, Two unknown men on a bike, wearing raincoats started following them with the intention to kidnap her brother.
The road was secluded, no one was there by far away. Dark clouds had covered the firmament.
She told her brother to hold her back tightly. That Cycle wasn't a cycle, It was turned into a jet. They came near to the cycle and was just grabbing her brother. She forcefully kicked on the bike, they faltered. She speeded up the cycle. "bas thoda door aur" she raved and finally reached to her village. As such she entered in her village, kidnappers stopped chasing and ran away. She had won the fight and succeeded to escape her brother from kidnappers.

It wasn't the single time of her "mardaani" act. She had been truly a fearless woman many times.

Once there was an awe of hijackers in the village. Each house was owning guns. There were two guns in Neetu's house. Everything was prepared if the robbers would come.
Robbers attacked on their house, her father carried out the gun and was going to attack back.. She didn't let his father go alone, she carried out the another gun and insisted to go with him.
Robbers were just supposed to enter in the house. It wasn't a time to discuss anything, they had no time left.. They two started attacking. Her father stood over the landing of the staircase and shooting outside from the window while she was shooting from an another window. Anything could be happened. but she didn't stopped until the police came. Everything was in control then. The way she fought against them, was remarkable as described by her sister.

She faced tough time but nothing did stop her from proving her courageousness. In the Indian culture when a brother keeps a promise to escape her sister, She changed the philosophy by escaping her brother from the kidnappers and also escaped her house from the robbers.

Meet Neetu Sharma

She made a difference. She fought like every woman should.
That's why I call her "MARDAANI".

Currently, She is a House wife and a mother of two kids in Jaipur. She left her teaching career to give full attention to her kids which states she knows her responsibilities.
We salute these kind of women who are not less than men. Yeah! This is "MARDAANI"
